The object of the Floating Wetlands project is to find out which aquatic plants would make the best base for a floating wetland in the Lagoon. This aquaculture tank will be filled with Lagoon water and will be used to test a variety of aquatic plants over the coming months.

Council's Coasts & Catchments team members Jason Ruszczyk and David Hellot are conducting the on-ground activities while CCLF are assisting with community and school awareness.

This project is receiving funding from a grant under the federal Dept of Industry, Innovation & Science's Community Environment Program to be administered by CCLF. The project is also being supported by federal member for Warringah Ms Zali Steggall OAM, MP.

More information on this project is provided here.
