It is with sadness we note the recent passing of our member and former committee chairman Mr Michael de Rome of North Curl Curl.
Michael’s wife Ros tells us “Michael and I became members of the Curl Curl Lagoon Committee soon after we moved into North Curl Curl in December 1981, persuaded by Max Osborne, a former treasurer and chairman of CCLC. Michael spent a year or two on the executive, before taking on the Chairman’s role after the 1992 AGM. He served for three years”.
Michael and Ros remained active members during the period of our incorporation in 1998 through to the present. Michael was also involved in broader issues related to development in the Curl Curl area. Michael was bright, enthusiastic, humorous and a very decent person. Michael was aged 69 and had been suffering poor health for some time.
We extend our condolences to Ros and their sons Stephen, Ben and Ethan. A service in Michael’s honour will be held at French’s Forest Bushland Cemetry on Monday 25 March 2024 at 2:00pm.
